PANTS PANTS PANTS

I hardly see women wearing dresses everyday, unless they're rehearsing for a play that took place in 1865. Nowadays, us girls wear pants almost all the time, and whether they're a little loose for formal or comfort wear or skin tight to show our cute little thighs, new styles of pants have came out and here is my input:

Skinny Jeans- they can either be your best friend or worst enemy. I believe girls that are not made to look good in skinny jeans should NOT wear em, because they're obviously not made for them. Skinnys go perfect with anythinnggg...uggs, boots, flip flops, sandals, and jordans (for my hood girls out there :p ), u can pair skinnys with any shoe, and preferably a up to hips or above shirt, to show off what ur mother gave you. lol. They can either be plain, ripped, or with zippers on the side.
Cargo Pants- unless youre going to battle, i strongly believe cargo pants are a no no. Theyre not feminine, and as bad as designers try to make them seem feminine, the models just end up looking like a bunch of tomboys. Sorry, gottsa skip those.
Harem pants- hmmm....theyre fit, comfy, and loose, which is perfect for shopping with the girls or lounging around your house. But they're preferably worn with a skin tight shirt or a wife beater, because if you wear some baggy shit ur just gonna end up looking like a huge garbage bag. Never tried em, but i have seen girls at my shop buy them and wear them. this one lady bought them and told me she was wearing it to a strip club. umm....i wonder how that went.
Leggingssss!!- are the most comfortable item, and like skinnys, can be worn with anything. a few exceptions: make sure you wear them with something that goes a little beyondd your hips. Ive seen ladies wear leggings with tight small shirts and it was not a pretty sight. in other words, make sure your chocha isnt sticking out. its not a pretty sight. Also, i strongly suggest you shouldnt wear them with sneakers...unless you're going out to jog.
high wasted jeans- i love high wasted jeans. they're sexy, stylish, and tres chic...but they're not made for girls with a badonkadonk like mine. even tho when i tried on a pair, they made it look lucious, but slutty :/
so heres the deal...high wasted jeans are made mostly for flat girls who want to create the illusion of an hourglass shape. They can be paired with anything, but look better when you tuck in a tight fitted shirt. they also look sexier skinny.

my latest obsession...

Im madly crazily obsessed with these bags...Yves Saint Laurent bags! I have this sick twisted obsession...idk what it is...the look, the logo, the price, the gay designer. Idk what it is, but these bags are the chicest, most trendiest classy bags out there. They're made out of soft napa leather, with top handles and a zip top. Made in Italy. They go with everything you wear, and immediatley bring out that spark. For nightime, you can pair up your LBD with an evening clutch, and you'll imediatley became la belle du jour. The price, though, is ridiculous. $1,395.00 for the handbag below, and $395 for the clutch. But, as crazy as I may seem, I am determined to buy one for my new 2011 look. Ugh! So excited!

It’s the little things that count =)

One of my classmates happened to mention that he loves designer names and such, but he is not willing to spend a lot of money on items he wouldn’t use much, such as denim. For example, he wears denim everyday and in order to buy designer denim, he would need more than one pair, which can be costly. What he does like though, is designer accessories that can be used every day. And as small as they are, they can still make a big statement. Things including a Burberry watch, Gucci wallet, Dolces, Prada shoes, or a Balenciaga bag look hot against plain simple items. They stand out.
I kind of agree with him, but it’s because I like everything that’s designer. But as a girl, I’d rather buy a ton of not so costly shirts, say from H&M and Forever 21, and pair it with expensive jeans and luxurious accessories. Personally, that’s my style. Some may like it, others won’t, but either way they’re going to stare.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this link!

thesartorialist.blogspot.com

This blog is one of the coolest I have seen so far, by Jed Root. What he did was take pics of the most fashionable people out there. Wherever he goes, whether its Milan, New York, Paris, or Japan, when he finds someone that turns heads or sticks out in our eyes, he takes a photo of them and posts it on this blog. Personally, I find it gutsy how he has the balls to just take random photos of madd cool looking peeps! If I saw him do that to me, though, I’d definately wack him with my bag. But that’s beyond point lol. The pics look really good, I mean the photography was an amazing job and the people he snapped photos of make normal ordinary people look like shit. Pardon mon françias. My favorite was the lady with the big fur jacket and the messy hair and heels and leggings. That is something I’d totally rock on a night out. I also liked the photos of the Matador, which I thought were cool because even they have a sense of fashion that stands out, even though they’re being chased by a bull.

white after labor day..

whats the deal with not wearing white after labor day? I personally think its unnecessary. white is one of the classiest colors and can be worn with anything at any season, even after labor day. I don't even understand the story behind it, but i think that if you can pull it off, you should deff wear white and not care about whether people criticize you or not. I love white denim, and i rock them during the winter, because i can pull them off, say with uggs and a juicy hoody. but designer runway is incorporating white items in their fall fashion shows, and i think they're classy and look amazingg.
Gucci Fall 2010. Love it.

Movingg Beyond Textt

So ok, combat boots are SO in this season. And they're hot, comfortable, and in trend. They also can be worn with leggings, skinny jeans, and mini skirts. They can either be studded, or plain, fake leather or real. The way I wear mine is loose (not zipped all the way to the top) and I dont tie the shoelaces, I let them hang and flow when I walk. Check out this picture. Would you wear combats boots, and with what? Are they made for men also?

Top 3 trends for guuyyss..

We all think of men as lazy slobs who don’t like getting dressed and wear anything that’s on the floor (sorry guys lol). But some guys out there actually know how to dress…and even if it’s the top 3 things that guys mostly wear, some do it with great style and pizzazz. Check it outtt:
1. Kickss- Guys love kicks. Whether it’s for playing sports, chillin, or walking like Kanye, it depends on the occasion. For going out to chill or just party, Pradas are the hot item. They make you look classy without trying too hard. If it’s just a casual occasion, Pumas would be just right. But you have to find the right style of pumas, like The Speedcats. If you just want a pair that’s good for going out and casual, you gottsa get the Airmaxes. Preferably the 95’s or 97’s.
2. Hoodies. Ok let’s face it…men live in hoodies. Either the ones that fall to the floor or ones that look just right. But from a girls point of view, the most appealing ones are fitted Affliction or Ed Hardy. There are different types of those as well. For example, Ed Hardy has different styles like ones that are more flashy with nice designs for those who want to be the spotlight of the room as soon as they enter, or more casual for those who don’t like all the insane designs. Another great hoody brand is Smet. Please no fucking St.John’s red hoodies.
3. Denim- The most appealing denim on guys are three of my favorite brands: True Religion, Rock&Republic, and 7 For All Mankind. True Religions look best when they’re straight leg or skinny, not bootcut, unless you’re willing to rock them with boots. Rock&Republics looks the hottest when they're skinny. But for those who don’t wanna spend a lot of money, DKNY or Guess are also stylish and trendy. These denim are flashy and classy at the same time so you could wear them anywhere you want.
Props to Baby<3

Versace - Fall Winter 2010/2011 Full Show - Menswear

Versace for men seems to be very appealing. These models have a European meets American look to them that makes them look classy and hot at any event. So if you guys are willing to dress to impress....check these trends out, boys. and tell me watchya think. girls, do they seem appealing?

Lookingg Forward

The future…oh yeah, it’s on everyone’s mind. It’s even on my blog’s mind. Once 1000c course is over, my blog will go on, and I would like it to be a future reference for the new 1000c-ers that will come. I would also like my blog to be featured in fashion magazines, but what are the chances that will happen? I will definitely continue working on it from time to time, but being in a pharmacy major, I have no time for anything. I will add blogs about the latest season trends, so that I don’t disappoint my fans out there, but it won’t be as intense as it was this semester. This semester, it was for grading purposes. Looking forward, it’s going to be just for fun. It will not include “assignment blogs”, because there aren’t any assignments. All it is going to include is occasional blogs about what’s in, what’s out, and what’s to store. As much as I enjoyed creating this blog, I will continue adding posts, but unfortunately, as I dread saying this, one day, it will come to an end.

LOUIS is everywhere….literally.

Have you guys noticed that everywhere you go, and every time you turn your head, you happen to spot a Louis Vuitton bag? I mean literally every single day I must spot one, and especially around Soho and Tribeca, every time I turn my head I spot a lady clutching a Louis. Soho and Tribeca…which is right near Canal Street. Hmm… that’s where it all happens. Canal Street is the biggest producer of fake designer, and I can guarantee nearly 98% of all the Louis bags I spot are FAKE. FAKE FAKE FAKE. What annoys me the most is that the ladies that carry the fake one boast it around like it was worth madd cash and to seem like they’re ballers. Honey, pop down your collar, we all know that bag is fake. Here are my expert ways at spotting:
1. Louis Vuitton crafts their handbags out of one long continuous piece of fabric. So if the handbag is not symmetrical, or has cutoff logos, or has a seam at the bottom of the bag, its fake.
2. If it includes multicolored logos, and if the LV logo is red..Its fake mama. Every genuine colored bag must include 9 different colored LV logos and 24 different colored quatrefoils and fleur.
3. The speedy must have a 6 pointed star shaped screw back, rather than 4 pointed.
4. The Zipper is rough and is so hard to open. With real ones, the zipper opens in one smooth quick motion. Swoof!
5. The leather must have a soft feel to it. If the leather is hard, rough, and tough…it’s a fake.
The real Louis bags sold at Louis Vuitton on 58th and 5th avenue (right across the street from Tiffany&Co.) are drop dead gorgeous with a real cow leather feel. It is so sad to see that these bags are produced in counterfeit ways and are sold at a much much cheaper price. It is a disgrace to Louis Vuitton, and any lady spotted carrying a fake is committing a crime against fashion.

reviewing a source

looking over the august 2010 edition of Seventeen magazine, I came across an article called "Look Hot In Your Jeans". This drew my attention immediatley because I live in denim. Basically, what the editors at Seventeen took a bunch of new rising styles of what to wear with simple jeans. For example, puff sleeved, cup sleeved, and sequined shirts with any regular blues. That, in particular, was eye catchy because that is a trend I follow almst everyday..a cute tee or top with different pairs of denim.
But I wasnt pleased with the cobweb sweaters to pair up with denim. I cant stand cobweb sweaters. They look like moth eaten pieces that youve kept in your closet for years. Also, they tried to incorporate the overzsized utility jacket with denim. I HATE THOSE JACKETS!! They look like something a bum would wear...so un-chic! But they did have short cropped jackets and leather jackets to wear with your jeans, and I find that hot, because it is personally my style.
Even though they did a good job dressing up the models and choosing the denim, all the models are thin. There isn't a single chubby girl in this article. I find that rather bizarre because everyone wears denim, not just skinny models. This article should have put different denim styles for girls with different shapes. But I did like the fact that they added 7 for all mankind denim, which is by far my favorite brand of jeans.

FASHION ALERT: interview reveals all

I conducted an interview with the Associate Marketing Publisher of Harper's Bazaar magazine, Freeda Fawal Farah. For those of you who don't know, Harper's Bazaar is a magazine about the world of fashion, releasing the latest up to date trends, and even if you pick up a December magazine, it will let you know whats hot for spring...I interviewed Freeda because she is up to date with the latest trends...and she pulls them off amazingly. The interview went quite well, while she was at her office at the Hearst building in Columbus Circle.

Me: Heyy whats going on?
Freeda: Hey how is everything? How's school?
Me: It's fine....(more talk)....what are some of the new fashion trends that are in for fall 2010?
Freeda: Hmm..lets see... animal and leopard print is big this season...as well as Red lips (Loreal infallible Never Fail Lipcolour). Camel colored coats are in trend this season, as well as modern minimalistic accessories.
Me: oooh that sounds hott...but let me ask you. Combat boots are in this season and I see women of different ages rock them. Do you think there is an age group limit, or can any woman of any age wear them?
Freeda: Definitely any age...here at Harper's Bazaar we try to follow a "Fabulous at every age" program where we take trends and adopt them to every age group, and that's the whole point is to take a trend and make it so that a twenty year and and a sixty year old can wear them.
Me: Interesting. Do you get to meet the celebrities that come for the cover shoot, and if you do, do they come dressed casually or are they a head-to-toe fashionista?
Freeda: They definitely come dressed casually, they usually come hungover and come dressed very simple. Then we take them and they get transformed by the makeup artists and fashion people here at Harper's Bazaar.
Me: Wow (lol) seriously? Ok, so are you a fan of the trench coat, and if so, do you recommend it for ladies of any size?
Freeda: Any size is fine, but the trench is essential. And for fall, camel colored trench is in.
Me: Awesome! Thank you for your time!

And so...that is how it went. She happens to be my aunt, so if anyone has any questions feel free to ask me and I'll ask her....and no you cannot get an autograph of Lady Gaga...that's for me only :)

michelle obama is always up to date with the latest trends
release your inner kitty cat lol

red lips are hot- for any season

some 1000c blogsss...

These are some blogs from 1000c that kind of relate to fashion, although not fashion itself, but it is still in the world of creativity, thinking, and arts...

http://chiotaki92.blogspot.com - Angie's blog is very interesting and helpful. Its mainly about relationships with friends and romantic relationships. She gives examples in her blogs, whether it may be from an outside source or events that actually occurred in her life. Her blogs talk about whether one should pursue distant relationships, whether one would choose friends over boyfriends, etc. I think, that if one has great taste in fashion, they should also have a great taste in friends... :)

http://technation311.blogspot.com/ - Although this has nothing to do whatsoever with fashion, Nathan's blog is helpful and is eye catchy to the tech freaks out there. I'm not a tech person myself, but its very interesting and funny to watch how the technology world and the fashion world are growing and competing with one another.  And its in the world of arts and class, so you know you're the shit when your clad in designer holding an itouch :p

http://suzayyychill.blogspot.com/ - this n*gga Suzie's blog is cool...because music and fashion go hand in hand. Runways always include the latest hip moving beats, and wherever you go, which ever store you're at, music is always blasting. I also think, for this topic as well, that whoever has a great taste in fashion has great taste in music as well, and people tend to dress to the type of music they mainly listen to.

you turn heads, I break neckss ;]

POLL QUESTION: Say I only have enough money to spend on only one of these items,
GIRLS: which would you choose? GUYS: which looks the most attractive on a girl?

-true religions
-burberry rainboots
-tiffany earrings
-a navy or light pink juicy suit
-a pair of chestnut or maybe another style of uggs

gimme your opinions!!!
ughh these earrings are to die for...

ED HARDYY for menn

From the point of view of a girl, I find Ed Hardy designs to be most appealing on males. The unique and manly designs as well as the fitting of the shirt is attractive as well as trendy and designer. Affliction is also a hot brand, but after I saw it last night on an overweight man i changed my point of view.
Anyway, Ed Hardy is a brand made by French Artist Christian Audigier based on the tattoo designs of Don Ed Hardy, who is one of the best tattoo artists in the world. His famous Japanese-American style designs were an inspiration to Audigier and thus made a clothing line using his designs.
Many celebrities are spotted rocking Ed Hardy, but everyday I see guys wearing Ed Hardy and I personally find it appealing as well as better looking than baggy jeans and hoodies and huge shirts. "It has a BAMF/rocker vibe to it & I guess it's supposed to make guys look masculine" says a source.

Sweaters like these look sickk

this shirt is fitted, so it looks more appealing.

Connecting fashion with the worldd

Other links that are related to my blog:
iamfashion.blogspot.com- I chose this link because I could really connect to the author's taste in clothing. Especially the boots, and how she's into designer. She's also into Diane Von Furstenburg, one of my favorite designers. The author of this blog applies trends in her own way and comes out with something creative.
bloomingdales.com- omg comon thats a given in a blog about fashion. This store includes designer names, and also has many sale items, for those who aren't willing to splurge. The people that work there are extremely nice and helpful, unlike the snobs at Saks or Bergdorfs. In the site, it also contains outfits that you can match when you don't know what to wear something with what. It includes clothing for men, women, kids, and old people. The store also includes beauty cosmetics as well as handbags, shoes, perfume, and accesories. Bloomies credit card is also available :)
http://www.askmen.com/fashion/trends/13_fashion_men.html - This website is a blog that relates to mens trendy styles as well as hairstyles and a lot of hot babes. It talks about the many things that seem attractive on a guy...hairstyles (yes, without the baseball cap) as well as skinny jeans, men's colognes, jackets, and even some halloween costumes. And theres like, a whole list of blogs on watches. Cuz men are obsessed with watches.
alwaysurban.com- I really like this website because it has a lot of urban clothing i see a lot of young people wearing these days. It has tees, tops, hoodies, sweatshirts and accessories for men and women. It's mostly like streetwear for young adults and teenagers. There are a lot of newly rising streetwear brands, nothing designer, and the prices are not expensive at all! There's even a sale :)
http://www.vintageous.com/- For those vintage freaks out there- this is your site. Hey, im a vintage lover myself. I love how vintage has that old twist to it that makes it a hot item to have on, whether its a tee or a handbag, theres something about vintage that makes it super cute and chic. Theres vintage dresses for every occasion, a cocktail party or just a party, as well as vintage accessories and even gift certificates!
officialkourtneyk.celebuzz.com/tag/kourtney-kardashian-fashion- I like kourtney only because of her louboutin pumps. But yes, she does have good taste in fashion, and she shares all her outfits on her blog website.
jacvanek.com- the sickk rubber wristband bracelets that I'm obsessed with. The money goes to a good cause. And they look madd cool on your wrists. She also comes out with accessories and tshirts for men and women. Gotta have the wristbands.

JAC VANEK bracelets are the sh*tt

yo yo yoooo im like totally obsessed with these bracelets...Jac Vanek bracelets! Only the cool girls wear em. Naa, just kidding. They're these rubber wristbands that have phrases on them with big bold letters. An example you've probably seen around a lot is the "i love boobies" wristband, which she actully contributed to breast cancer awareness. The one I have says "JUST BREATHE", which is a constant reminder for me to calm down and breathe whenever I panic. There are many other phrases such as "LEGIT", "BADASS", "CARPE DIEM", "BESTIE", as well as many others. Each bracelet costs like 10 dollars and a pair for 20. Most of her money goes to cancer patients. these bracelets are like, legit, the shit. Check out her website: jacvanek.com

so whats the deal with SJU hoodies?

For the past 2 months or so that I've been attending St. John's University, all I see people wearing is their red St.John's hoody that was distributed during orientation. Some people wear that every single day, and what occurs to me is that, do they not have anything else to wear??
I understand and agree with the fact that one shouldn't get all dressed up for school, well because it is only school and its not like they're going out, but the matter is that at least try not to look like you just woke up and decided to throw on the same red piece and a pair of denims. I understand its a cozy item, cozy enough to wear as a pajama, and perhaps sometime I might consider wearing it once to school, but for every single day?? Do the kids that wear it have THAT much school spirit? I think not.
Some people even go hard and go all out for school. Hmm...I don't think wearing 3 inch heels to philosophy will get you to understand the teachings of Socrates, unless you're deciding to throw the heel at your professor.
But back to my point, and no offense to those who flash their SJU hoodies with pride, it is merely out of respect to those around you, and respect to the public, that one actually wears something decent to the eye. And I'm not saying go all out- oh no! But a white tee, jeans, and sneakers wouldn't hurt. It's kind of like what Jerry Seinfeld was telling George when he wore sweatpants..it's like telling the world I don't care about you or myself, and I'm showing it by not changing clothes in the morning. And same goes with the hoodies.

OMG! THIS lady is so cool

So I was going through  Lucky magazine when I came across a lady named Erica whose introducing her blog. I immediatley searched it and found it to be extremely creative and deff worth looking in to. What she does is she sees something she likes, say..on the runway or designer or something she spotted on the street, and she creates the same ideas onto her outfits. She cuts, sews, and glues fabric to make the same designs in her own chic way. She even made her own book!
Check it out, girls (and guys?):
psimadethis.com

So she says:
"Boxy silhouette bags are making a huge comeback for Fall/Winter 2010.  Louis Vuitton is bringing the sexy lady back, while Ralph Lauren continues to knock us out with versions of his famously luxe Ricky bag (yes! Named for RL’s knock-out wifey)."

hmm....I deff agree with Erica, Louis Vuitton did mak a huge comeback this year, but it is very expensive. I like how she shows a way of making your own boxy silhouette bag using a lunchbox! This lady is sick.

"P.S.- NEVER SAY NEVER TO NEON!  I love infusing bright and funky highlighter shades into my world"

noo wayyyy....I deff cannot stand neon bright colors and such...especially for fall/winter. I like to stick to solid hues, mainly dark ones. I dont think neon colors really go well with femininity, unless your style is an all out funky edgy one. But other than that, I wouldn't wanna stand out like fireworks. Sorry Erica, got a disagree with you on that one..

omgg but this here is my favorite, she made charms! and they look really hot attached to a satchel or a hobo...hmm think i might do that..
Lucky Charms are magically delicious and so is JEWELRY!  One of my favorite jewelry designers, Dana Lorenz of Fenton/Fallon continues to wow us season after season with her over-the-top statement pieces, terrific textures, and sparkling situations. Dana recently invited me and a few other fab friends over and let us loose in her shop. She graciously gifted charms and broken pieces of past collections for a special P.S. project!  I loved the idea of blinging out my fall bag with a bag charm using her fun elements.
To create a chic bag charm, re-purpose broken or old jewlez, charms, pendants, pieces, basically anything fun you can get your hands on.  Tie your bits and bobs onto string or cording and secure to a binder ring. Make sure you hang at different lengths to create a staggered effect. Clip onto your bag with a carabiner clip and you are one leading lucky charm lady!

Burberryyy is IN!

SO have you guys noticed that Burberry is in this winter? Many ladies are wearing Burberry jackets with the cuffed sleeve to expose the checkered designer print. They come in different colors, and theyre very warm inside. Also, burberry scarves are in, and theyre so cute and cozy! Made of 100% cashmere, they come for men and women, in cream checkered print or the pink print. For those rainy days, many different ladies have been spotted rocking the burberry rainboots, which come in different lengths over the calves. My friend Kristina recommends them, saying "they're the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, and I've worn them all".

Burberry is often wore to formal events or interviews that require proper clothing. If you guys are willing to splurge on one item, though, the trench would be the perfect choice. It is appropriate for an event, an interview, or just casually going to work or school.

But what about the money...would you splurge on an item like this?
