Have you guys noticed that everywhere you go, and every time you turn your head, you happen to spot a Louis Vuitton bag? I mean literally every single day I must spot one, and especially around Soho and Tribeca, every time I turn my head I spot a lady clutching a Louis. Soho and Tribeca…which is right near Canal Street. Hmm… that’s where it all happens. Canal Street is the biggest producer of fake designer, and I can guarantee nearly 98% of all the Louis bags I spot are FAKE. FAKE FAKE FAKE. What annoys me the most is that the ladies that carry the fake one boast it around like it was worth madd cash and to seem like they’re ballers. Honey, pop down your collar, we all know that bag is fake. Here are my expert ways at spotting:
1. Louis Vuitton crafts their handbags out of one long continuous piece of fabric. So if the handbag is not symmetrical, or has cutoff logos, or has a seam at the bottom of the bag, its fake.
2. If it includes multicolored logos, and if the LV logo is red..Its fake mama. Every genuine colored bag must include 9 different colored LV logos and 24 different colored quatrefoils and fleur.
3. The speedy must have a 6 pointed star shaped screw back, rather than 4 pointed.
4. The Zipper is rough and is so hard to open. With real ones, the zipper opens in one smooth quick motion. Swoof!
5. The leather must have a soft feel to it. If the leather is hard, rough, and tough…it’s a fake.
The real Louis bags sold at Louis Vuitton on 58th and 5th avenue (right across the street from Tiffany&Co.) are drop dead gorgeous with a real cow leather feel. It is so sad to see that these bags are produced in counterfeit ways and are sold at a much much cheaper price. It is a disgrace to Louis Vuitton, and any lady spotted carrying a fake is committing a crime against fashion.
hey susan,
ReplyDeletei love how you are always so blunt. If u have something on your mind, there is not doubt it's coming out. This post is an example of that, and honestly i respect that. I also spot a lot of fake people with their fake bags and how they feel like they are "ballers."
I like this post because, although i know how to spot a fake bag, you seem to be better at it. This is good advice for spotting a fake bag for many reasons. One of them is to see who is really fake and who is not. Another is for not getting screwed. For example, if i was buying my girlfriend a louis bag, i would not want to be jipped into buying a fake one. That is why i appreciate this post. i also like your blog overall because my girlfriend is into fashion and sometimes i cannot keep up with her. But with your help, i can stay up to date with the latest trends and not look like a fool in front of her.
lmfaoo....thank you nathan
ReplyDeleteawww susan. this post was so cute on how you expressed that you felt bad for those poor cows. I agree with you, because I would also feel uncomfortable wearing a nice leather bag, jacket, or shoe knowing that an innocent animal suffered at the cost of my own expense. I think that there are so many other brands to chose from, why use Louis Vuitton? It is possible to find bags from other brands that don't exploit animals. Also, I thought your tips on spotting a fake Louis Vuitton bag were really helpful. I still have trouble telling the difference between a fake a genuine brand, but with your hints I think I'll be better at it. Of course I'll buy it from a reliable store, but sometimes it's nice to spot random people on the street and know what their style is like. If their wearing the real deal, or too cheap to buy one themselves.
ReplyDeleteSusan I totally agree with you! Fakes are for fakers. I can't understand why anyone would want fakes when they themselves know that their item is fake. I think for something like a LV bag, not only does it look nice, but it also makes the wearer more confident and makes them proud that they can rock such an item. However, for fakes, yeah sure you have an OK looking item, but you cant rock it with pride because you yourself know it's fake.
ReplyDeleteLOL! seriously, this is awesome. can never tell the difference between real of fake, esp since im planning on buying one for my mother :X soo no i know that RED logo is a nono and the seems and cut off LV's are fakes. wooo! thanks susan :]
